Definition Of Persistence

I remember the first time I printed my book… that I planned to sell of course. I floated back to the car, excitement spilling everywhere. I couldn’t wait to read. I opened the book at the first set of traffic lights… oops, spelling mistake. Hmm, don’t want to say that either. What was I thinking there? Blasting anxiety— I flipped through the pages my heart sinking, “This is garbage,” I said, hitting the steering wheel, “Where’s my weed?”

What I am saying is; my first print turned out to be disheartening, which was saddening because that is a lot of time wasted… screw it.  I wrote it again… oh thats it, I chuckled during the rewrite, thats brilliant, the kind of writing that keeps a man getting laid… oh yah, I smacked the desk, and headed to the printshop…

“That’ll be twenty-two fifty,” the kid at the printshop says. Expensive book… I flip my wallet, float home, open the manuscript and…

Jesus, this stuff blows worse than MTV Canada.  Tunnel vision— what happened to the brilliant material on my computer??

Ten times of this printed disappointment and I am now deprived of the heart fluttering finish…but thats the brilliance of persistence… I sit down, and I do it again. Thats they key word- persistence…  I have a story to tell. I want to tell it right, and I have nervousness, doubt, anxiety, and fear  as I wait to open the pages of endless work…

I’ll tell you right now. If I get good reviews on this book, I’m going to be flying high… HIGH I SAY!

Until next time… what is it in your life, that you would like to make better??

I’ll walk you through the steps… I just want to be the one walking first…

Sincerely,

Devin Bisanz
